Job summary

emea-cookmedical is seeking an experienced Research and Development Engineer 2 to provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise. The role focuses on applying engineering principles to solve complex challenges while ensuring safety, quality, and clinical relevance of medical devices.

Responsibilities include leading project portions, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and developing best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 3 years of relevant experience.
• Advanced degrees (Master’s/PhD) may reduce the required experience by 2–4 years.
• Experience in a Medical Device or regulated industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead portions of projects and support other teams as needed.
• Collaborate across functional departments and guide technical direction.
• Develop and promote best practices in focus areas of work.
• Interact with SMEs, physicians, and product managers to innovate medical devices.
• Create and maintain design history files and ensure compliance with standards.
