Summary

Working in Hollister’s global centre for Continence Care R&D, this is an excellent career opportunity for aBiomedical Scientist graduate to join a dynamic and growing team in the Research & Development of innovative Continence Care products and technologies. The successful graduate will work onsite within the Continence Care Research & Development teams to help launch and demonstrate the benefits of Hollister’s current intermittent catheter portfolio, as well as help design our next-generation products.

We are seeking a biomedical science graduate who has an understanding of impact of product design, biomedical engineering and the material construction on the physiology and health of users. The successful candidate will be capable of interfacing with management within the organization and to work with and support the Marketing organization for the successful completion of specific objectives.

The successful candidate will be part of a team responsible for:

  • Supporting the research, design and development of new products and technologies, including but not limited to, biomedical research, technology and concept development, prototype development, design verification/validation, shelf-life determination and product commercialization.
  • Researching new technologies and developing them into solutions that drive new product platforms
  • Develop new test methods for new concepts and technologies
  • Provide scientific and technical support to New Product Development and New Product Commercialisation
  • Preparation of technical documentation in accordance with regulatory and design control requirements and with the company's development processes
  • Developing a high level of understanding of internal customer requirements that can be translated into product design.
  • Conducting analysis of data and developing detailed reports documenting results, conclusions and recommendations

Educational Requirements

  • Minimum Degree (Honours) in Biomedical Science or Biomedical Engineering

Specialised Skills/Technical knowledge

  • Understanding of laboratory equipment and laboratory techniques
  • Ability to solve technical issues using standard problem solving techniques
  • Ability to create and/or analyse test data and interpret results to drive conclusions
  • Identifies potential challenges and proactively works to address them
  • Ability to write protocols and technical reports.
  • Demonstrates awareness of current technological and scientific trends
  • Ability to effectively communicate concepts, ideas and knowledge to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of MS Office suite and CAD software.
  • Supports the completion of team deliverables
  • Actively participates on cross-functional project teams
