Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a senior Quantity Surveyor to lead cost control across infrastructure and energy projects. You will assess designs, develop bills of quantities, evaluate on-site works, and monitor costs to ensure contractual entitlement and timely payments.

Applicants should have extensive QS/Cost Management experience within energy or utilities sectors, strong piping knowledge, and proven ability to work with complex contracts and high-value projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years’ experience in a QS/Cost Management role within Infrastructure/Utilities/Oil & Gas.
• Technical understanding of piping works.
• Clear understanding of construction contract documents, drawings and specifications.
• Experience delivering technically complex and high-value projects.
• Experience in a comparable consultancy environment or with a client or contractor organisation.
• Knowledge of cost management principles, methods, techniques and tools, including the standard method of measurement.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and ability to foster relationships.

Responsibilities

• Support development of cost control standards, ensuring alignment with industry standards and contractual terms.
• Prepare cost estimates for piping installation (materials, labour, equipment).
• Develop and maintain processes, systems and procedures to disseminate cost reports timely and accurately.
• Foster relationships with the supply chain and wider industry including contractors, consultants, suppliers and professional bodies.
• Provide advice and expertise regarding claims and disputes on construction and consultancy contracts.
• Review schedule of rates or Bills of Quantities for pre-tender budgets against designs and comment as required.
• Review monthly valuations for post-contract costs, valuations, variation orders and final accounts of packages.
• Cost control and reporting: monitor project costs vs budget and produce financial reports and forecasts.
