What to Expect-Student Placements

Our placements give you the chance to gain first-hand experience of the commercial side of construction. From day one, you will support the commercial control of projects in line with company policies and procedures, while developing your skills alongside experienced professionals who are committed to mentoring you. A placement role with MMD Construction will provide valuable insights into cost management, procurement, and contract administration, giving you the skills, confidence, and practical knowledge to stand out in your future career as a Quantity Surveyor.

Summary of Duties:

  • Supporting Senior Project Surveyors with budgets, procurement trackers, and cash flow preparation.
  • Preparing tender packages, attending subcontractor meetings, and completing cost reports.
  • Involvement in valuations and reconciliation reports.
  • Career progression through structured training with regular one-to-one mentorship.

Working with Us

You will be guided by the Quantity Surveying Training Plan, with monthly review meetings and tailored support. You will progress quickly from supporting tasks to taking ownership of commercial responsibilities.

Requirements:
