Medtronic is seeking a Quality Engineer to support the product value stream and ensure high quality standards across the manufacturing process. The role collaborates with Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality teams to uphold regulatory requirements and patient safety.

The ideal candidate has a minimum 2 years in a regulated medical device environment, with strong communication, detail orientation, and experience in quality control.

Qualifications

  • Higher Certificate (Level 6 NFQ) in a relevant technical discipline.
  • Experience with quality control and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Willingness to work Evening Shift.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality to ensure quality system compliance.
  • Inspect incoming materials per defined specs and regulatory requirements.
  • Support product control measures for quality and patient safety.
  • Review data, identify trends, and assist in problem solving.
  • Assist in investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.

The Quality Engineer role is critical in supporting key department metrics thus contributing to the global strategy and to deliver on our mission to contribute to human welfare by supporting the manufacture of products that alleviate pain, restore health, and extend life. A Day in The Life Of:

Works collaboratively with Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality teams to ensure compliance with quality system requirements. Collaborate with required stakeholders in the receive inspection function and across functions ensuring incoming materials and components meet defined specifications and regulatory requirements. Assists in implementing and maintaining product control measures to ensure product quality and patient safety. Reviews quality data, identifies trends and supports problem-solving activities to address quality issues. Supports inspection and testing activities and assists in the analysis of product and process performance. Applies and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of raw materials and test equipment Ensure quality records and documentation are completed accurately and maintained in compliance with applicable regulatory and internal requirements. Participate in preparing and facilitating investigations, providing QA technical direction and solutions as appropriate. Contributes to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, process effectiveness and operational performance.

Key Skills & Experience
  • We are looking for a qualified person to a minimum of a Higher Certificate (Level 6 NFQ) in a relevant technical discipline (e.g. Electronic, Electrical, Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering or related discipline) and with a minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience
  • Experience working in the medical device or other regulated industry
  • Requires complete and broad knowledge of quality control, techniques and practices typically gained through experience and/or education
  • Strong communication skills. Ability to communicate verbally and/or in writing
  • Strong attention to detail and vigilance Builds and maintains positive relationships with others; shows respect and consideration for others
  • Working knowledge of Agile, SAP & Microsoft applications is also desirable
  • Must be available to work Evening Shift.

  • Pay range / Rango salarial / Intervalo salarial /Fascia retributiva / Tranche de salaire / Gehaltsband / Salaribereik: Ireland: 39,200.00 EUR - 58,800.00 EUR | The final salary within this range will be determined based on objective, job-related criteria, including relevant experience, skills and qualifications, in accordance with our compensation framework.
