Job summary

SRG in Ireland is seeking an experienced Quality Metrology Technician to advance precision measurement in a high-precision manufacturing environment. You will work with PCMMs (Faro Arm, Romer Arm), calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify engineering specifications and quality standards.

You will interpret drawings, analyze results, and contribute to continuous improvement by calibrating equipment, producing detailed reports, and supporting quality procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience in machining and manufacturing environments.
• Background in quality inspection, metrology, or similar technical role.
• Qualification in metrology, quality control, engineering, or related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of metrology and inspection equipment.
• Understanding of GD&T.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100D would be advantageous.
• Experience with PCMM equipment (Faro/Romer) is highly desirable.

What You'll Be Doing

• Perform high-precision measurements using advanced metrology equipment, including Portable Coordinate Measuring Machines (PCMMs) such as Faro Arms and Romer Arms, as well as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Inspect incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to verify compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards.
• Interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and technical specifications to determine inspection requirements.
• Analyse measurement results, identify trends, and investigate deviations from specifications.
• Contribute to resolving quality-related issues by providing accurate data and technical insight.
• Maintain and support the calibration of metrology equipment to ensure consistent measurement accuracy.
• Produce detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate quality records.
• Support continuous improvement activities by identifying opportunities to enhance inspection processes and quality control methods.
• Assist in developing and improving quality procedures, standards, and best practices.

What You'll Bring

• Experience within a machining and manufacturing environment.
• Previous experience in quality inspection, metrology, or a similar technical role.
• A qualification in metrology, quality control, engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong practical knowledge of metrology and inspection equipment.
• Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with quality management systems such as ISO 9001 or AS9100D would be advantageous.
• Experience using PCMM equipment, including Faro Arms or Romer Arms, would be highly desirable.
