Job summary

CareerWise Recruitment in North Cork is seeking a Quality/Technical Officer to join a growing food production client onsite reporting to the Technical Manager.

The role covers raw material control, annual sampling planning, audits, documentation, traceability, and customer specifications, with emphasis on BRC/HACCP and retailer standards, plus collaboration with NPI.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, or related field.
• Experience working in a food production environment.
• Knowledge of frozen product processing would be helpful.
• Familiarity with BRC, HACCP, and retailer-specific food safety standards.
• Experience with retailer specification systems would be desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee raw material specifications, risk assessments and non-conformance investigations.
• Coordinate testing and results for the Annual Raw Material Sampling Plan.
• Assist in managing BRCGS and retailer standards documentation.
• Participate in customer and third-party audits and traceability exercises.
• Prepare customer specifications and QAS standards, including nutritional verification.
• Prepare Kosher, Halal, RSPO and Rainforest Alliance documentation and audits.
• Collaborate with NPI team to launch new products efficiently.
• Handle export documentation applications and health/vet certificates.
• Undertake monthly quality control routines including hygiene and audits.
• Support customer complaint investigations.

A Quality /Technical Officer is required by CareerWise Recruitment to join our North Cork based food production client. This is an exciting opportunity join a well-established business as they go through an expansion phase. Onsite role reporting to the Technical Manager.

Role

• Raw Material Control - raw material specifications, questionnaires, risk assessments, COC & COA review, non-conformance investigations and sign off.
• Raw Material Annual Sampling Plan - coordinate testing & results
• Assist in management of BRCGS & customer standard procedures and policies and documentation, including document control and review
• Partake in Customer and third-party audits and completion of traceability exercises
• Completion of Customer Specifications and QAS standards, including nutritional verification.
• Completion of Kosher, Halal, RSPO and Rainforest Alliance applications and documentation and assisting in relevant audits
• Member of the NPI Team – liaising with NPD, commercial, supply chain & production to ensure that new products are launched efficiently.
• Export documentation applications – health & vet certs etc.
• Undertake monthly quality control routines including; hygiene and internal audits, swab review, prepare data for monthly management review.
• Partake in customer complaint investigations
