Overview
Position: Quality Specialist Engineer (Full‑time Maternity Cover, minimum 9 months) – 39 hours per week.
Core hours: 10:00‑15:00 Monday‑Thursday and 10:00‑14:00 Friday. Flexi time is available if core hours are completed.
Role Responsibilities
- Provide oversight and expert guidance for investigations linked to Maintenance and Engineering activities; ensure Change Controls are administered effectively and meet GMP expectations.
- Ensure strict adherence to GMP standards across all Maintenance and Engineering operations; review compliance, documentation, and operational conduct to maintain audit‑ready performance.
- Review and assess change‑control documentation, deviations, and failure‑investigation reports; identify significant non‑conformances, escalating them appropriately and supporting timely, compliant resolution.
- Maintain accurate records of investigations, deviations and change controls; support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Coach and support Maintenance and Engineering personnel in the execution of investigations, Change Controls and GMP‑compliance activities, delivering clear communication and targeted training when required.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive continuous improvement, monitor regulatory expectations and industry best practice, and perform daily operational activities in full alignment with site safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
- BSc in Biotech, Chemistry, Engineering or a related scientific discipline, with demonstrated experience in a regulated environment.
- Hands‑on experience and a strong customer‑centric approach; consistently meeting expectations of both internal and external stakeholders.
- Proactive gathering and application of customer feedback to improve services and outputs; recognising and addressing critical concerns.
- Ability to achieve business goals set by management, overcoming obstacles to meet targets and applying relevant theories and practices.
- Clear understanding of operational processes and interactions with other departments; professional behaviour, confidentiality and strong relationships with colleagues and customers.
- Commitment to safety; participation in safety meetings, hazard identification, maintenance of a clean and organised work environment, and on‑time delivery of commitments.
