Job summary

Medtronic in Ireland is seeking a Quality Engineer to support the product value stream by maintaining quality standards and regulatory compliance across manufacturing processes. You will collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality teams to drive investigations, data analysis and continuous improvement, while ensuring materials and equipment meet specs.

The role requires a Level 8 degree in Engineering or science, strong problem-solving skills, and experience with SAP, IQ/OQ/PQ and

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science or a technical field is required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a risk-based approach to quality issues.
  • Experience with cross-functional teams and proactive collaboration.
  • Knowledge of quality systems and validated processes (IQ/OQ/PQ) is advantageous.
  • Experience with Agile and SAP is beneficial.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.

  • Assists in inspections, material releases and regulatory requirements.

The Quality Engineer role is critical in supporting key department metrics thus contributing to the global strategy and to deliver on our mission to contribute to human welfare by supporting the manufacture of products that alleviate pain, restore health, and extend life.Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:Supports the development, modification, application and maintenance of quality standards and procedures for manufacturing processes and finished products.Works collaboratively with Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality teams to ensure compliance with quality system requirements.Collaborate with required stakeholders in the receive inspection function and across functions ensuring incoming materials and components meet defined specifications and regulatory requirements.Assists in implementing and maintaining product control measures to ensure product quality and patient safety.Reviews quality data, identifies trends and supports problem-solving activities to address quality issues.Supports inspection and testing activities and assists in the analysis of product and process performance.Applies and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of raw materials and test equipmentEnsure quality records and documentation are completed accurately and maintained in compliance with applicable regulatory and internal requirements.Participate in preparing and facilitating investigations, providing QA technical direction and solutions as appropriate.Contributes to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, process effectiveness and operational performance.Supporting internal and external audits (BSI/MDSAP/FDA etc.).Key Skills & ExperienceLevel 8 Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science or technical fieldDemonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to apply a risk-based approach to quality issues.A dynamic team player and leader with the ability to work effectively and proactively on cross-functional teams with a high level of enthusiasm and motivation while developing technical and quality engineering knowledge.Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver work within established timelines.Demonstrated critical thinking skills and ability to independently plan and schedule activities.Experience or knowledge of quality systems, equipment IQ/OQ/PQ, validation activities or regulated industries is advantageous.Experience with Agile, SAP and/or SAP ME would be beneficial.Fluent in English, both written and verbal.Physical Job RequirementsThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this position, but they are not an exhaustive list of all the required responsibilities and skills of this position.Recruitment Fraud AlertWe are aware of phishing scams targeting job seekers.
