Job summary

Red Chair Recruitment is seeking a Quality Control Engineer for a Cork/Kerry border client. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will maintain and improve quality standards across the manufacturing operation with a practical, hands-on approach in a multi-functional setting.

This on-site role involves leading ISO quality management activities, conducting inspections and testing, applying root-cause analysis and COPIS process improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar Quality Control or Quality Engineering position.
• Strong knowledge of sheet-metal manufacturing and processes.
• Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
• Experience with ISO quality systems and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong communication, organisational and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify quality issues, establish root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct inspections, testing and quality checks throughout the process.
• Lead root-cause analysis to resolve quality and production issues.
• Support ISO quality management activities and maintain procedures.
• Produce regular quality reports and performance analyses for the Plant Manager.

• Apply COPIS methodology to improve processes and outcomes.
• Manage supplier returns, non-conformances and corrective actions to resolution.

Job description

We are presently recruting for a Quality Control Engineer for our clients on the Cork / Kerry border. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving quality standards across the manufacturing operation. The role requires a practical, hands-on approach, strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work effectively across multiple functions. This is an on site position, within easy reach of Killarney, Macroom and Millstreet.

Job Duties

• Identify quality issues, establish root causes and implement effective corrective and preventative actions.
• Conduct inspections, testing and quality checks throughout the manufacturing process.
• Identify, investigate and resolve quality and production issues using structured root-cause analysis.
• Lead continuous improvement and corrective action initiatives.
• Support and lead ISO quality management activities, ensuring procedures and standards are maintained.
• Apply the COPIS methodology to improve processes, quality and customer outcomes.
• Manage supplier returns, supplier non-conformances and corrective actions through to resolution.
• Produce regular quality reports and performance analysis for the Plant Manager.
• Work cross-functionally with Production, Engineering, Purchasing and Suppliers.
• Analyse quality data and identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar Quality Control or Quality Engineering position.
• Strong knowledge of sheet-metal manufacturing and processes.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, data analysis and reporting.
• Experience working with ISO quality systems and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong communication, organisational and analytical skills.
