Job summary

AJ Group in Dublin is seeking an experienced QA/QC Engineer with a strong MEP background to join our established construction business delivering major projects. This contract/freelance opportunity suits an experienced QA/QC professional who has worked across complex MEP installations and construction environments and is looking for their next project.

You will support the delivery of the project quality strategy, ensuring MEP installations comply with drawings, specifications and client

Qualifications

• Proven QA/QC experience in construction.
• Strong MEP focus across mechanical/electrical installations.
• Experience with QA/QC procedures, ITPs, inspections and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate QA/QC activities across MEP works.
• Develop and maintain ITPs, check sheets and quality docs.
• Monitor MEP installations for compliance with drawings/specs.
• Carry out site inspections and quality audits.
• Review and maintain quality records and inspection documentation.
• Manage NCRs, snagging and close-out of issues.
• Collaborate with PMs, Site Managers, engineers and subcontractors.
• Review subcontractor quality documentation for compliance.
• Assist with testing, commissioning and handover docs.
• Ensure works meet standards and client requirements.
• Support the team in achieving quality and programme objectives.

Job description

AJ Group are currently recruiting for an experienced QA/QC Engineer with a strong MEP background to join an established construction business delivering major projects in Dublin.

This is a contract/freelance opportunity suited to an experienced QA/QC professional who has worked across complex MEP installations and construction environments and is looking for their next project.

You will be responsible for supporting the delivery of the project quality strategy, ensuring MEP installations are completed in accordance with approved designs, specifications, standards and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate QA/QC activities across MEP works.
• Develop and maintain Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), check sheets and quality documentation.
• Monitor MEP installations to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and project requirements.
• Carry out inspections and quality audits across site.
• Review and maintain quality records and inspection documentation.
• Identify, record and manage defects and non-conformances through to close-out.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, Engineers and subcontractors.
• Review subcontractor quality documentation and ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Assist with testing, commissioning and handover documentation.
• Ensure all works are completed in line with relevant standards, specifications and client requirements.
• Support the project team in achieving quality and programme objectives.

Requirements

• Proven experience working in a QA/QC Engineering role within construction.
• Strong MEP bias, ideally with experience across mechanical and electrical installations.
• Experience working on large-scale or technically complex construction projects.
• Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures, ITPs, inspections and quality documentation.
• Experience managing NCRs, snagging and quality close-out.
• Ability to read and understand MEP drawings and technical specifications.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a wider project team.
