Job summary

Aurivo Co-op, through its Aurivo Agribusiness, is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist for its Animal Feed Mill in Ballaghaderreen, Co Roscommon. The role focuses on ensuring feed quality, safety and regulatory compliance throughout the production cycle.

The successful candidate will manage QA systems, conduct analyses, maintain certifications, lead audits, and drive continuous improvement in product quality and site efficiency while liaising with stakeholders and supporting product

Qualifications

• Level 8 degree in Agricultural Science or related science disciplines.
• Experience in all areas of quality assurance within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of feed safety standards and legislation.
• Technical knowledge of HACCP principles, auditing and quality management systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Flexibility in working duties and areas of work.
• Some laboratory experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Collection, labeling and appropriate storage of samples.
• Conduct analysis on raw materials, in-process and finished product samples.
• Review and maintain testing schedules and lab equipment calibrationsRecording, analysis and reporting of results.
• Manage the sites quality system, HACCP and pest control programme.
• Maintain certifications and approvals (e.g. DAFM, UFAS).
• Perform internal audits.
• Lead the implementation of quality procedures, protocols and policies and monitor compliance.
• Support and assist the management team to drive the continuous improvement of product quality and site efficiency.
• Provide technical support in relation to customer complaints and product development.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders.

Opportunity

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with legislation and that the highest feed quality and safety standards are achieved in accordance with relevant legislation and standards.
