Overview

Our client, a leading FMCG food company, is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance (QA) Manager – HACCP to join their team in Wexford. This is a full-time, permanent role where you will play a pivotal part in driving the highest standards of food safety, quality, and compliance across the business. You’ll lead and strengthen the company’s HACCP systems, quality frameworks, and regulatory compliance to ensure best-in-class manufacturing standards. You will work closely with site operations, production, and technical teams to ensure that all food-safety programs are implemented effectively and that customer expectations are consistently exceeded.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, develop, and maintain robust HACCP-based Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS), ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and accreditation standards.
  • Manage the development, implementation, and verification of quality assurance programs, SOPs, and hygiene standards across all production areas.
  • Conduct internal audits, inspections, and corrective actions to ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements (e.g., BRCGS, Global GAP, Retailer Audits).
  • Deliver HACCP and food safety training to production and technical staff, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Support and lead the investigation and resolution of non-conformances, ensuring root cause analysis and effective preventive measures.
  • Liaise with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and customers, maintaining strong professional relationships and transparent communication.
  • Oversee compliance with health, safety, and hygiene policies, ensuring food-safety risks are effectively managed and controlled.
  • Provide on-the-job coaching and mentoring to QA and production teams, fostering strong cross-functional collaboration.
  • Analyze trends in quality data to drive improvements in process efficiency and product quality.
What Are We Looking For?
  • A degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Level 6 HACCP certification (or higher) – essential.
  • Proven experience in a Quality Assurance or Quality Management role within the food manufacturing or FMCG industry.
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP principles, food-safety legislation, and industry standards.
  • Experience managing audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent leadership and people-management skills with the ability to train, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in quality-management software systems and MS Office.
