An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality Manager to join a well-established food manufacturing business.
This is a key leadership role responsible for driving food safety, quality and technical standards across the site while leading a dedicated Quality Assurance team.
Working closely with Production, Commercial and Product Development teams, you will ensure products, processes and systems consistently meet customer, legal and company requirements while promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead, coach and develop the Quality Assurance team.
- Champion a positive food safety and quality culture across the business.
- Maintain, develop and continuously improve the site's Quality Management System.
- Ensure compliance with Irish and EU food legislation, customer requirements and recognised industry standards.
- Manage and maintain HACCP systems.
- Plan and lead the internal audit programme, ensuring corrective and preventative actions are completed.
- Lead customer, certification and regulatory audits.
- Work closely with Production, Commercial and Product Development teams to ensure products meet food safety, quality and customer requirements.
- Manage supplier approval processes and supplier quality performance.
- Investigate customer complaints, non-conformances and quality incidents, carrying out root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Monitor industry developments and emerging food safety risks.
- Analyse quality performance, identify improvement opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide technical guidance and support across the business.
ABOUT YOU
- Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Quality Management or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- Significant experience in a senior Quality or Technical role within food manufacturing.
- Proven experience leading and developing Quality Assurance or Technical teams.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, food safety management systems and food legislation.
- Experience within an FMCG food manufacturing environment.
- Experience leading customer, third-party and regulatory audits.
- Knowledge of IFS Food, BRCGS or equivalent food safety standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- Strong problem-solving ability with experience implementing corrective and preventative actions.
- Ability to influence and build relationships across all levels of the business.
