Job summary

Chartered Accountants Ireland is seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector to support its regulatory function and quality review programme. The role involves monitoring member firms, evaluating processes, and reporting findings to stakeholders.

You will contribute to the Institute’s standards, with travel across the island of Ireland and flexibility around home-based and on-site reviews. The successful candidate will have 5+ years post-qualification experience and strong communication and analytical

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ post-qualification experience in a practice or regulatory environment.
• Excellent knowledge of professional, technical and ethical standards.
• Excellent organisational, communication and influencing skills; strong IT literacy.
• Ability to communicate effectively on sensitive matters with credibility at all levels.
• Demonstrable report-writing experience for technical audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and travel within Ireland.

Responsibilities

• Conduct monitoring visits to Chartered Accountant Ireland member firms.
• Review firms’ processes and methodologies for practicing activities.
• Assess firms’ compliance with Institute rules and regulations.
• Critically evaluate work by principals on audit, accounting, investment business and AML matters.
• Hold interviews with principals and team members and report findings.
• Provide recommendations to improve quality and value for firms.
