Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is seeking a proactive Health & Safety Advisor for a leading mechanical services team in Leinster, Ireland, specialising in heating, plumbing, ventilation and air conditioning installations and maintenance.

You will support site teams and management to uphold ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001, coordinate audits, drive risk assessments and incident reporting, and ensure compliance across multiple projects while promoting safe working practices and environmental responsibility.

Qualifications

• Experience in QEHS, quality, health and safety or compliance role in construction/building services.
• Practical knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems and audits.
• Organised, detail-oriented and able to maintain documentation and coordinate audits.

Responsibilities

• Quality Management: Maintaining and improving our ISO 9001 QMS and related processes.
• ISO Compliance & Audits: Readiness for external certification, surveillance and recertification audits.
• Site Inspections: Monitor compliance with procedures and site standards; report outcomes weekly.
• Health & Safety: Support risk assessments, method statements, incident reporting and training records.
• Environmental Management: Support environmental compliance and waste management.
• Corrective Actions: Track audit findings, non-conformances and improvements to completion.
• Reporting & Continuous Improvement: Report to management on compliance, audit findings and trends.

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive Health & Safety Advisor to join our mechanical services team, specialising in heating, plumbing, ventilation and air conditioning installations and maintenance.

The successful candidate will support site teams and management in maintaining high health and safety standards across multiple projects, ensuring compliance with Irish legislation and company procedures.

Responsibilities

• Quality Management: Maintaining and improving our ISO 9001 Quality Management System, procedures, records and processes.
• ISO Compliance & Audits: Maintaining readiness for external certification, surveillance and recertification audits across ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Site Inspections: Monitoring compliance with company procedures, project requirements and site standards. Reporting on outcomes to Senior Management weekly.
• Health & Safety: Supporting risk assessments, method statements, incident reporting, training records and safe working practices.
• Environmental Management: Supporting environmental compliance, waste management and pollution prevention.
• Corrective Actions: Tracking audit findings, non-conformances and improvement actions through to completion.
• Reporting & Continuous Improvement: Reporting to management on compliance, audit findings, trends and opportunities to improve performance.

Requirements

We’re looking for someone who has experience in a QEHS, quality, health and safety or compliance role, ideally within construction, mechanical contracting or building services, has practical knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems and audit requirements, is organised, detail-oriented and confident maintaining documentation and coordinating audits

Salary will be starting at €65k + vehicle + benefits
