Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb in Ireland seeks a Senior Specialist for Smart QC & QC Projects to drive operational excellence across QC teams. The role focuses on Smart QC operation, trend assessment, APQR support, and continuous improvement to enhance efficiency and compliance.

The successful candidate will manage cross-functional projects, coordinate training, and contribute to regulatory readiness while upholding BMS safety standards.

Qualifications

• Third level qualification in Science or related discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years in pharma/healthcare laboratory or related technical function.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to influence decisions.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory operation from receipt to CoA.
• Experience with Smart QC and its capabilities as a QC tool.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams; project scoping/tracking is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support QC teams with operation of Smart QC, queries, tickets, and method builds.
• Conduct trend assessments and support APQR activities with SMEs.
• Assist QC Projects portfolio with continuous improvement tasks.
• Drive process improvements to reduce investigations and improve first-time quality.
• Support Lean labs and automated scheduling tool improvements.
• Project management of assigned projects including planning and escalation.
• Implement procedures and systems to maximise operating efficiency using OE tools.
• Support operational training and onboarding within QC.
• Assist with tech transfers managed by the QC Projects team.
• Contribute to Drug Substance release activities (data collation/tracking).
• Comply with SOPs and Registered Specifications; align with BMS safety culture.
• Approve SOPs and training documents as required.
• Participate in regulatory inspections when required.
