Job summary

AbbVie Westport is seeking a QC Pharma Projects Supervisor for a 12-month fixed-term contract to lead a 8-12 person Projects team within QC.

The role oversees operations including cleaning validations, residual monitoring and method transfers to the QC laboratory, ensuring GMP/compliance and timely delivery while coaching staff and coordinating with multiple stakeholders across QA and manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Third-level qualification in a science discipline, preferably chemistry.
• 3+ years as an analyst in a GMP/GLP lab with team-management experience.
• Experience with HPLC, GC and other analytical techniques.
• Knowledge of Empower software.
• Excellent communication, presentation, organisation and time-management.
• Strong understanding of regulated environments.
• Proven analytical/problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to plan, schedule and adapt to constraints.
• Ability to build strong cross-functional relationships and communicate quality needs.
• Comfortable in fast-paced, dynamic settings with high ethics.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance to direct reports to ensure activities are on schedule and GMP-compliant.
• Maintain relationships across management, colleagues, direct reports and customers.
• Motivate the team and address underperformance.
• Hold performance meetings per company policy.
• Update time management system and manage attendance.
• Participate in training and certification of new employees.
• Ensure area is fully staffed and manage constraints.
• Coach and develop team members for succession planning.
• Represent the company as SME during regulatory inspections.
• Provide analytical support and scheduling for residual monitoring, process validations and cleaning validations.
• Lead New Product Introductions from an analytical perspective, including method co-validation and onboarding of new hires.
