Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a Programme Manager Lead in Dublin to govern and coordinate complex CDQ programs across cross-functional teams. You will establish PMO practices, define milestones, and ensure delivery in line with business objectives.

The role requires pharma regulatory knowledge, strong communication, and experience delivering large-scale programs in a regulated environment. A Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years in program management are expected.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of industry experience, including 5+ years in program or project management.
• Demonstrated experience managing large, complex, cross-functional projects in a pharmaceutical or similarly regulated environment.
• Strong knowledge of GMP manufacturing, supply chain, CMC technical development, and pharmaceutical regulations.

Responsibilities

• Leads the CDQ PMO function coordinating project managers and resources to drive function and enterprise-wide project success and ensure cross-functional alignment.
• Establish and maintain project governance, prioritization, and reporting processes across assigned cross-functional teams and CDQ Functional Teams.
• Translate PMO and business priorities into clear execution plans, milestones, dependencies, and tracking mechanisms.
• Monitor project progress, risks, issues, actions, and dependencies; escalator blockers, decisions, and resource needs as appropriate.
• Develop and maintain standard templates, tools, dashboards, and metrics to support consistent program management practices.
• Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams to support the execution of complex programs, including planning, implementation, and budget tracking where applicable.
• Ensure timely, clear, and consistent communication to stakeholders, including senior leadership, on program status, risks, decisions, and next steps.
• Support the development and rollout of standard program management processes, training, and ways of working across the organization.

Job Description

The Programme Manager Lead is responsible for providing governance, coordination, and execution oversight across assigned projects within CDQ (Commercial Distribution Quality). The role establishes and maintains consistent project management practices, supports prioritization and decision-making, and ensures delivery against agreed milestones, scope, and timelines. The position also leads cross-functional collaboration, facilitates stakeholder communication, and oversees assigned projects to support effective execution and alignment with business objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• 10+ years of relevant industry experience, including 5+ years in program or project management.
• Demonstrated experience managing large, complex, cross-functional projects in a pharmaceutical or similarly regulated environment.
• Strong knowledge of GMP manufacturing, supply chain, CMC technical development, and pharmaceutical regulations.
• Proven ability to develop governance models, manage priorities, and drive execution across multiple stakeholders.
• Strong communication, organization, analytical, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts and influence cross-functional teams and technical experts.
• Ability to understand technical aspects of complex systems and contribute to detailed problem-solving discussions.
