Microbiologist Position at Waterford - 12 Month Contract

CareerWise Recruitment is seeking a Microbiologist for our Waterford-based Pharmaceutical client. This is a 12-month contract. If you have experience in a GMP environment, this could be the right opportunity for you!

Responsibilities:
  • Provide microbiological testing and support to the Microbiology and Manufacturing departments.
  • Review documentation and ensure compliance.
  • Offer technical guidance and expertise to QC Microbiology Team and external departments, maintaining close contact with Microbiology, Validation, Manufacturing, Planning, and Quality Assurance.
  • Execute QC Micro testing, including water sampling, water testing, growth promotion, identifications, sterility testing, environmental monitoring, and plate reading.
  • Ensure compliance with cGMP and Standard Operating Procedures at all times.
  • Contribute actively to continuous improvement initiatives in the lab.
  • Represent QC Microbiology at cross-functional meetings.
  • Provide audit support as required.
  • Support various projects as needed.
  • Perform duties safely and report safety issues or concerns.
Job Requirements:
  • Degree in Science or related field (Microbiology, Pharmacy, Chemistry, or Biochemistry preferred).
  • 2-3 years of experience in Microbiology within a GMP facility, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
  • Experience in plate reading, water testing, endotoxin testing, sterility testing, requalification, or familiarity with microbiological equipment maintenance.
