Job summary

Harry Walsh Associates Ltd. is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor for a leading energy multinational manufacturing site in Cork. The role manages a team of 9 shift chemists, providing direction and training while ensuring compliance with Quality Management Systems.

You will lead ongoing audits and drive continuous improvement within the laboratory operations. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field with 8+ years of lab testing experience and prior supervisory

Qualifications

8+ years laboratory testing experience and supervisory experience.
Proven experience leading internal audits, external audits, management reviews, and compliance activities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Provide direction, support, leadership, training and performance management for all Shift Chemists.
Maintains a detailed knowledge of the Quality Management Systems and ensures Lab compliance.
Maintain in-depth knowledge and understanding of all test methods used in the Lab and work with Area Specialists on development of related applications and procedures.
Involved in strategic long-term planning for the Lab at all stages of the process.
Establish policies promoting the lab's continuous improvement process.
Schedule, lead, perform, and report on internal quality and process audits.
Investigate, document, implement and verify corrective action plans.
Identify and verify training for all lab personnel on Quality Management System principles.
As part of the lab’s management team, provide input into the annual lab plan.
Maintain knowledge of the site's Quality Management System and ensure implementation.
