Job summary

SGS is hiring a QC Coordinator in Ireland for an acting role within the Life Sciences team. The candidate will lead a laboratory team, coordinate testing workflows, and maintain strong customer-facing interactions.

The role focuses on people development, process improvements, and safety culture within a GMP laboratory environment.

Qualifications

• A third-level qualification in science, pharmacy, with GMP lab experience.
• Experience with analytical instrumentation and automated laboratory systems.
• Proven experience leading and developing a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide strong leadership and support across the team.
• Coach and develop staff to execute duties and meet business objectives.
• Represent SGS ISL at routine customer interactions.
• Maintain cross-functional relationships with planners and coordinators.
• Optimize testing sequences based on capacity, TpT and customer needs.
• Lead safety audits and drive a pro-active safety culture.
• Lead Tier 1 and participate in Tier 2 meetings.
• Own laboratory systems for equipment management.

ROLE OVERVIEW

• Job Title: QC Coordinator
• Job Type: Acting Role

Overview of the role

• Provide strong Leadership and Support across the team
• Coach and develop team,ensuring all employees aretrained to execute their duties-Lead the team to ensurebusiness objectives are met
• Represent ISL at routine customer interactions, aligning with client services
• Build and maintain cross functional relationships with operational planner and coordinators (daily and weekly operational meetings).
• Ensure optimization of testing sequences considering available capacity, while also balancing TpT commitments and customer demands.
• Drive and promote continuousimprovements initiatives within the lab
• Carry out safety audits and leadership visits and work to enhance pro-active safety culture
• Lead Tier 1 meetings and represent the team at Tier 2 meetings
• Take full ownership of Laboratory Systems for new and existing equipment

Qualifications

• Third Level qualificationwithinscience, Pharmacywith a minimum of 4 years experiencein a GMP analyticallab.
