About the Role

Perform Recruitment is seeking a skilled and experienced Quality Manager to join our clients expanding food manufacturing facility in Drogheda. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading name in the chilled convenience food industry, delivering high-quality, ready-to-eat products to major retailers across Ireland and Europe.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all quality assurance operations, leading a dedicated team, and ensuring full compliance with food safety standards and retailer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Quality Assurance team to achieve high performance and continuous improvement
  • Ensure full compliance with BRC standards, customer specifications, and relevant food legislation
  • Oversee and prepare for internal and external audits, including visits from EHOs and major retail clients
  • Ensure robust food safety systems, particularly for Ready-To-Eat (RTE) product lines
  • Act as the primary point of contact for quality-related queries from retailers including Tesco, Aldi, Lidl, and Musgrave
  • Collaborate closely with Production, Technical, and NPD teams to ensure smooth and compliant operations
  • Promote a culture of proactive problem-solving and high-quality standards

  • Occasional travel within the UK and Europe for audits and technical meetings

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a high-care or high-risk food manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with BRC food safety standards

  • Proven ability to manage and lead a team effectively

  • Experience working with auditors, EHOs, and technical representatives from major retail chains
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills

  • Fluent in both verbal and written English

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities

Desirable

  • Familiarity with Tesco TFS, TQC, Foods Connected, or Inspectario

  • Experience in fresh produce or chilled convenience foods

  • Understanding of various Irish retailer standards (Aldi, Lidl, Musgrave, etc.)
