Spencer Recruitment is partnering with a leading independent communications consultancy to recruit a Corporate PR Senior Account Manager.
This position will suit an experienced communications professional who can lead significant client accounts, develop strategic communications programmes and provide confident advice to senior stakeholders.
The successful candidate will combine strategic thinking with hands‑on delivery across corporate communications, media relations, reputation management, issues management and executive positioning.
Key responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of corporate communications accounts.
- Act as a trusted adviser to senior client contacts.
- Develop a detailed understanding of each client’s business, stakeholders and reputational priorities.
- Identify emerging communications challenges and opportunities.
- Maintain strong client relationships and consistently high standards of service.
- Identify opportunities to grow and develop existing accounts.
Strategic communications
- Develop corporate communications and reputation‑management strategies.
- Advise clients on corporate positioning, executive visibility and stakeholder communications.
- Lead communications planning for announcements, organisational change and sensitive issues.
- Develop thought‑leadership programmes for senior executives and subject‑matter experts.
- Anticipate emerging communications risks and prepare appropriate responses.
Media relations and content
- Lead media‑engagement strategies across national, business and sectoral media.
- Develop strong relationships with journalists, editors, producers and commentators.
- Oversee targeted pitching, interviews and background briefings.
- Draft and review press releases, statements, briefing documents, speeches and opinion pieces.
- Prepare senior executives for media interviews and major announcements.
- Support crisis communications and provide advice during fast‑moving situations.
Team and commercial management
- Lead account teams and allocate work effectively.
- Mentor Account Managers and Account Executives.
- Review team output and maintain high strategic and editorial standards.
- Manage account budgets, resources, scope and profitability.
- Contribute to proposals, tenders, credentials documents and pitches.
- Collaborate with public affairs, digital, financial communications and creative specialists.
Experience and capabilities
Candidates should have:
- Strong experience in corporate communications, strategic PR, media relations or reputation management.
- Experience leading client accounts or managing senior internal stakeholders.
- A strong understanding of the Irish business and media environment.
- A track record of developing and delivering successful communications programmes.
- Excellent writing, editing, presentation and advisory skills.
- Experience advising senior executives on communications and reputation.
- The ability to interpret complex business issues and translate them into clear communications.
- Experience managing teams, budgets and competing priorities.
- Strong commercial awareness and an interest in account development.
- The judgement and discretion required to work on sensitive matters.
Experience in crisis communications, financial PR, investor relations, ESG, transactions or public affairs would be particularly relevant.
