Job summary

A healthcare organization is seeking a committed Temporary Psychologist to join their outpatient community mental health team. The successful candidate will provide assessments and interventions for individuals facing mental health challenges. This position requires strong clinical skills and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team. Full driver's license is required. Role is based in Mullingar with one day a week in Longford.

Qualifications

  • Must have a Master's or Doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Experience working in a community mental health setting preferred.
  • Demonstrated skills in psychological assessment and evidence-based intervention.

Duration: 6 months

Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Temporary Psychologist (Staff Grade) to join our outpatient community mental health team. The successful candidate will provide psychological assessments, interventions, and support to individuals experiencing a range of mental health issues. This role requires strong clinical skills and a commitment to enhancing the well-being of our community members.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychoeducation, and other relevant modalities.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, including psychiatrists, social workers, and nurses, to ensure integrated care.
  • Provide crisis intervention and risk assessments as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential clinical records in compliance with organizational and legal standards.
  • Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and continuing professional development activities.
Qualifications
  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Relevant professional registration/licensure.
  • Experience working in a community mental health setting preferred.
  • Demonstrated skills in psychological assessment and evidence-based intervention.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
