Job summary

Crosscare Clonliffe Family Hub in Dublin 3 seeks a Project Worker to provide 24-hour short-term residential support to adults and families experiencing homelessness. The role involves initial assessment, case management, linking families to housing and supports, and working to move families into long-term accommodation.

The post is full-time, 38.5 hours per week on a 7-day rota (including evenings and weekends).

Qualifications

• BA in relevant field (NQF QQI Level 7) is required.
• Minimum 1 year relevant employment with similar client group.
• Child Protection Training is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support and case management for allocated families.
• Identify housing supports and link families to appropriate services.
• Engage with external service providers and internal teams to facilitate move-on to long-term housing.
• Carry out admin duties for family hub operations and maintain PASS records.
• Follow Crosscare policies including Child Protection and Health & Safety.

Project Worker role is to provide a critical service in 24 hour short term residential services to adult men, women and their families experiencing homelessness. The Role:

• Our services are challenging environments as we seek to achieve an inclusive approach working with people with complex issues. implement the case management system and engage in one to one work with a specific allocated case load, from referral stage to move-on. This includes initial assessment, Identifying Housing supports and additional supports, Updating the PASS System, advocating on behalf of the family, arranging meetings, linking the family in to appropriate services assisting each family in finding a long term home.
• To liaise closely with the Housing Case Working team and family link worker to ensure effective communication and support families to re-engage/engage with local communities.
• To engage with and build professional trusting relationships with each family, treating them with dignity and respect, and working within the values of Crosscare
• To carry out all duties including the admin ones connected with the operation of the family hub, resolving conflict, responding to health issues, premise management, taking referrals, welcoming and engaging with families.
• Follow all Crosscare policies, reporting policy & procedures regarding Child Protection and Health and Safety concerns at all times
• To liaise with and advocate to a broad range of external service providers in addition to internal services
• To work effectively as part of a team and being open to reasonable requests from manager/ care coordinator/facilities coordinator

Essential Qualification Required:

• Minimum BA in Applied Social Care, Addiction, Mental Health, Nursing, Psychology (or equivalent) Level 7 awarded by National Qualifications Framework (NQF) QQI
• A minimum of 1 year relevant employment working with similar client group
• Child Protection Training

Experience Required:

• External candidates - A min of 1 year working in area of homelessness & housing
• Internal Candidates - A min of 6months relevant employment working in Crosscare homeless services

Additional Requirements ( be able to demonstrate in your application)

• Good time Management and organisation skills
• Knowledge of Rebuilding Ireland, Pathways to Home, HAP, Rent Supplement & HNAs
• Awareness of issues arising for residents/families moving into their own independent tenancy
• Experience of managing complex and challenging situation in client based service.
• Knowledge of Children’s First & Child Protection
