Job summary

TLI Group Ltd is seeking a Project Scheduler to lead planning across multiple renewables projects in Ireland. You will develop and maintain detailed programmes, align timelines with objectives and deliverables, and support governance and reporting to stakeholders.

The role emphasizes creating robust schedules, monitoring progress, and driving improvements while mentoring junior planners as the team grows.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1–3 years' experience in a Project Planner, Project Scheduler or similar role.
  • Proven experience developing, managing and maintaining detailed project schedules using Microsoft Project.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects within a fast-paced project environment.
  • Experience preparing and presenting programme reports, dashboards and performance metrics to senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and manage detailed project programmes using Microsoft Project. Knowledge of Primavera P6 is advantageous but not required.
  • Lead the planning and scheduling function across multiple projects, ensuring programmes are aligned with project objectives, contractual requirements and delivery timelines.
  • Monitor project progress against baseline schedules and identify variances, trends and potential impacts on project delivery.
  • Analyse critical path activities, float consumption, programme logic and key project dependencies to support effective project execution.
  • Identify programme risks, delays and constraints and work with Project Managers to develop recovery plans and corrective actions.
  • Produce and present weekly, monthly and ad-hoc project status reports, programme updates and performance metrics to project teams, senior management and clients.
  • Facilitate programme review meetings with Project Managers, Design Teams, Construction Teams, Clients and other key stakeholders.
  • Manage and maintain project baseline programmes, ensuring all approved programme changes are accurately documented and controlled.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and department leads to develop realistic project schedules, resource plans and delivery strategies.
  • Monitor project milestones and key deliverables, ensuring deadlines are achieved and programme commitments are met.
  • Support tendering and pre-construction activities through the preparation of project schedules, logic plans and programme submissions.
  • Assist in the development of planning reports, dashboards and programme performance metrics.
  • Ensure programme compliance with project governance requirements, contract obligations and company planning standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve project delivery through programme optimisation, sequencing improvements and planning best practices.
  • Support the future development and expansion of the planning function, including mentoring and supporting junior planners as the team grows.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the planning and scheduling function, promoting consistency, efficiency and best practice across projects.

Qualifications & Skills

Qualifications

  • Third Level Qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certification in Project Management, Planning or Scheduling would be advantageous.
  • Microsoft Project training or certification would be advantageous.
  • Relevant experience within a project planning, scheduling or project controls environment.

Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of project planning, scheduling and project controls principles.
  • Strong understanding of project lifecycle stages from design through construction, commissioning and handover.
  • Understanding of project reporting, programme governance and schedule management principles.
  • Strong understanding of critical path analysis, programme logic.
  • Knowledge of baseline management, programme monitoring and change control processes.
  • Experience working within construction, utilities, engineering, telecommunications or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of project governance, change management and programme control processes.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365 applications including Teams, SharePoint and Outlook.

Experience

  • Minimum 1–3 years' experience in a Project Planner, Project Scheduler, Project Coordinator or similar role.
  • Proven experience developing, managing and maintaining detailed project schedules using Microsoft Project.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects within a fast-paced project environment.

  • Proven experience monitoring project progress, identifying programme risks and implementing recovery plans.
  • Experience facilitating programme review meetings and working closely with Project Managers, Engineering Teams, Design Teams and Construction Teams.
  • Experience managing baseline programmes, programme revisions and change control processes.
  • Experience supporting tender, bid and pre-construction planning activities would be advantageous.

Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Project and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with Primavera P6 would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise across multiple projects.
  • Strong understanding of critical path analysis, programme logic and scheduling methodologies.
