Job summary

Gi Group Recruitment is partnering with a well-established Irish contractor to recruit a Project Quantity Surveyor for a major development in Co. Mayo.

You will lead the commercial management of the project from pre-construction through final account, supported by mentorship from senior leaders and a structured progression path. The role requires a degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline and 3-5 years' experience, with strong cost control, procurement, and stakeholder management

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or a related discipline.
• 3-5 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying position within the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, cost management and commercial administration.
• Excellent commercial awareness with strong negotiation and analytical skills.
• Strong communication, organisation and stakeholder management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of the project from commencement through to final account.
• Prepare and monitor project budgets, cost plans, cash flow forecasts, and commercial reporting.
• Measure, value and certify subcontractor works, including the preparation of interim valuations.
• Procure subcontractors and suppliers through competitive tendering and commercial negotiation.
• Assess, negotiate and agree variations, change orders and final accounts.
• Monitor project costs, identify commercial risks and opportunities, and implement measures to maximise project value.
• Produce accurate monthly commercial reports, forecasts and cost updates for senior management.
• Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Site Management, Clients, Design Teams and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
• Maintain accurate commercial records and contractual documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support the safe, timely and cost-effective delivery of projects while maintaining the highest quality standards.
