Job summary

Optel Group in Ireland is seeking a Project Manager to oversee all aspects of projects, including time, scope and budget, and to establish strong relationships with clients while communicating status and requirements. The Project Manager will work directly with the customer and head office, managing tasks throughout the project life-cycle.

The role involves coordinating with head office, managing lifecycle tasks, and supporting the ongoing development and improvement of project management

Qualifications

• Project management qualification or a degree in engineering, science or related technical background.
• At least 5 years of relevant technical experience.
• Experience within a regulated industry (Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, Automotive, Food and Beverage) preferred.
• Excellent communication, both oral and written, in English.
• Project management knowledge of tools, techniques, culture or PMI PMP certification.
• Effective organizational skills with regard to tasks and priorities.
• Good judgment regarding financial, technical and operational aspects of a project; ability to offer robust solutions.
• Excellent team building skills with cross functional teams; travel may be required.
• Curiosity and eagerness to learn, especially regarding AI technologies.

Responsibilities

• Manage all project communications between the client and Optel teams; understand requirements, costs, deadlines and limits.
• Responsible for all project planning and execution to deliver a quality solution on time and within budget.
• Gather critical information when preparing specifications for a relevant solution.
• Lead and provide strategic guidance for master planning and execution of tasks.
• Assess risks and costs, understand feasibility and deadlines.
• Prepare specifications and quotes; communicate with OEMs as needed.
• Monitor the design of the solution with stakeholders.
• Follow up on design reviews with Optel teams and the client.
• Participate in regular project review meetings to ensure milestones are met.
• Prepare, review or approve technical documents and required equipment.
• Ensure test plans are written.
• Manage customer relationships and escalate issues to account managers and senior management.
• Communicate objectives, schedule, budget and blockers to cross-functional teams.
• Transmit information to software, mechanical, IT and documentation teams.
• Provide support to internal teams and the client to resolve technical problems.
