Job summary

BAM UK & Ireland is recruiting a Civils Project Manager to join our Waterford team. The role involves leading the leadership, management and oversight of all project aspects to deliver successful outcomes while maintaining high professional standards.

You will interact with clients and the wider community to drive safety, quality and performance on dynamic infrastructure assignments. With a focus on delivery, you will ensure timely programmes, robust cost control and effective collaboration with

Qualifications

• Degree or HND in Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience as PM or Senior Agent within civil engineering contracting.
• Ability to lead and manage large project teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee leadership, management and oversight of all project areas to deliver successful outcomes.
• Communicate professionally with project stakeholders and wider community.
• Provide operational, strategic and contractual direction for the project team.
• Support HSQE initiatives and promote safety and environmental awareness.
• Drive cost-conscious management and ensure proper resource use.
• Maintain relationships with client and supply chain for repeat business.
• Establish and monitor cost management and programme baselines.

• Establish, maintain and monitor an effective, programme based cost management system, to facilitate financial control with reliable QF preparation and reporting.
• Ensure realistic programmes are prepared, managed, monitored, reviewed and updated according to the requirements of the project and contract.
• Ensure processes are in place for the preparation, review and briefing of method statements, activity plans and risk assessments and measures implemented to ensure they are reviewed and updated accordingly.
• Ensure systems are in place for the successful commercial and financial management of the project.
• Ensure all necessary site-based appointments are made with suitably trained and experienced staff.

What do you bring to the role?

• Degree, HND in Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience working as PM or Senior Agent within Civil Engineering contracting is essential.
• Must be able to demonstrate leadership and management capabilities commensurate with such a role.
• Knowledge of bridge construction.
• Rail experience is preferred.
• Detailed working knowledge of the civil construction environment and forms of contract used.
• Experience working in construction project delivery and managing large construction teams.
