Job summary

Standard Control Systems is seeking a Project Engineer to support Project Managers in delivering BMS projects. You will assist with design review coordination, technical submittals, documentation, and general project administration to ensure on-time deliverables.

This role offers exposure to planning, stakeholder coordination, and project governance under the guidance of a PM, with a clear path toward more responsibility and development in management and commercial aspects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• Experience supporting BMS projects.
• Strong organisation and attention to detail; able to manage registers and multiple deadlines.
• Clear written and verbal communication; interact professionally with clients and internal teams.
• Basic understanding of HVAC / M&E building services; BMS knowledge an advantage.
• Comfortable with documentation and systems (MS Word/Excel/Teams; MS Project advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Support the PM with design review coordination: track design queries, RFIs, and required updates across CAD and Controls/Design teams.
• Prepare, compile, and manage technical submittals (equipment data, drawings, method statements where applicable), including tracking approvals and responses.
• Maintain project administration and document control: I/O Points Lists, registers, meeting notes/actions and deliverable trackers
• Assist with programme support: update trackers, highlight risks/slippages, and follow up on internal deliverables to protect timelines.
• Support procurement coordination by preparing requisitions/requests and tracking lead times for PM visibility.
• Support commissioning and closeout by tracking snags, coordinating responses, and ensuring items are closed.
• Compile closeout documentation, including O&M manuals, as-builts, certifications, and handover packs (with inputs from internal teams).
• Issue technical submittals directly to the client when delegated by the PM, ensuring appropriate internal checks are completed.

The role helps ensure deliverables are issued on time, trackers are maintained, and closeout documentation is completed to the required standard. This position is a development step towards Project Manager and provides exposure to planning, stakeholder coordination, and project governance under the direction of a PM.

Key Responsibilities

• Clear written and verbal communication; able to interact professionally with clients and internal teams.
• Basic understanding of HVAC / M&E building services; BMS knowledge an advantage.
• Comfortable working with documentation and systems (MS Word/Excel/Teams; MS Project advantageous).
• Problem-solving mindset; able to investigate issues and elevate clearly with supporting facts.
• Development mindset and willingness to learn project commercials, planning, and client management.
• Procore experience is advantageous but not essential
