Job summary

Meissner in Castlebar, Co. Mayo, is seeking a Production Operator to join our manufacturing team. You will work under the Production Supervisor, operate and adjust equipment, and help produce single-use biocontainers in a cleanroom setting.

You’ll read and follow SOPs, maintain records, assist in packaging, and ensure product quality and regulatory compliance. A background in cleanroom manufacturing and strong English communication are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience with cleanroom manufacturing.
• Experience in a regulated industry is beneficial.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn software applications.
• Strong English language written and verbal communication.
• Ability to read and interpret English safety rules and SOPs.
• Commitment to producing high quality products.

Responsibilities

• Manufactures SUPS according to design specifications and SOPs.
• Interfaces with computers/software to track production.
• Reads SOPs to perform manufacturing operations correctly.
• Adjusts machine settings per SOP instructions.
• Initiates welding cycles for equipment components.
• Inspects and tests products to detect defects at various stages.
• Maintains meticulous production and defect records.
• Visually inspects finished products for adherence to specs.
• Participates in packaging and shipping of finished goods.
• Monitors machinery and notifies supervisors of irregularities.
• Cleans equipment at different production stages.

Meissner is seeking a Production Operator to join the manufacturing team at the Castlebar, Co.Mayo facility and will report directly to the Production Supervisor.

How you will make an impact:

• Manufactures SUPS according to design specifications which will be communicated via engineering drawings and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Interfaces with computers/software which facilitates all phases of production activity including tracking of production order status, electronic batch record generation, lot control, inventory control, etc.
• Reads SOPs to properly perform necessary manufacturing operations.
• Adjusts machine settings according to SOPs.
• Initiates welding cycle of various pieces of machinery involved in production of single-use biocontainers.
• Examines and tests single-use products at various stages of production, according to SOPs, to detect nonstandard or defective assemblies.
• Maintains meticulous records of production and defects.
• Visually inspects all finished product for adherence to design specifications as well as packaging and labeling accuracy.
• Participates in packaging/shipping of all finished product.
• Observes automatic machinery and notifies supervisor and/or quality of any irregularities.
• Cleans equipment at various stages of production.

The skills and experience you’ll need:

• Experience with cleanroom manufacturing is desired.
• Experience working in a regulated industry is beneficial.
• Basic computer skills are essential with ability to quickly learn customized software applications.
• Must have strong English Language written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to record production results.
• A personal commitment to produce the highest quality product possible is essential.

The Work Environment

• Required protective gear: powder-free gloves, face mask, hairnet, cleanroom suit, shoe covers.
• No shorts, loose clothing, or soiled/frayed garments.
• No makeup or hair products.
• Must be a non-smoker (smoke particles damage products even hours after smoking).
