Job summary

Solas IT Recruitment is seeking an experienced Product Owner for mobile products in Galway. You will own and prioritise the product backlog, translate business needs into clear requirements, and collaborate with product, UX, engineering and stakeholders to deliver compelling mobile experiences.

In this hybrid role, you will partner with cross-functional teams to ensure mobile initiatives are clearly defined, prioritised and delivered to a high standard for iOS and Android platforms.

Location: Galway – Hybrid

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Product Owner with a strong background delivering mobile products and applications.

Working as part of a cross-functional product team, you will own and prioritise the product backlog, translate business and customer needs into clear requirements, and support the delivery of high-quality mobile experiences.

You will work closely with Product Management, UX, Engineering and business stakeholders to ensure mobile initiatives are clearly defined, effectively prioritised and delivered successfully.

Responsibilities

• Own, manage and prioritise the product backlog for mobile product initiatives.
• Translate product strategy, customer needs and business requirements into clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Lead backlog refinement and support sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives.
• Work closely with mobile engineers, UX designers and technical stakeholders throughout delivery.
• Define requirements for new mobile features, enhancements and integrations.
• Ensure stories are sufficiently detailed and ready for development.
• Balance customer value, commercial priorities, technical dependencies and delivery effort when setting priorities.
• Support mobile product discovery, journey mapping and feature validation.
• Coordinate dependencies across mobile, web, API and backend teams.
• Review completed work against agreed requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Gather feedback from customers and internal stakeholders to guide product improvements.
• Monitor mobile product performance, adoption and customer experience.
• Communicate delivery progress, risks, dependencies and changes to stakeholders.
• Support product releases and ongoing improvements across iOS and Android applications.

What We’re Looking For

• Commercial experience working as a Product Owner within a software product environment.
• Demonstrable experience delivering mobile application projects or mobile product features.
• Strong backlog management, prioritisation and sprint-planning experience.
• Experience creating user stories, acceptance criteria and clearly defined product requirements.
• Good understanding of mobile customer journeys and user experience.
• Experience working closely with mobile engineers, UX designers and Product Managers.
• Ability to manage dependencies between mobile applications, APIs and backend services.
• Strong stakeholder-management, organisation and communication skills.
• Experience working within Agile delivery teams.
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable Experience

• Experience delivering customer-facing iOS and Android applications.
• Experience within a SaaS or subscription-based product environment.
• Familiarity with mobile analytics, customer feedback and product-performance metrics.
• Understanding of mobile release processes and app-store requirements.
• Experience working across multiple products or delivery teams.
