Job summary

ProVerum is seeking a Product Engineer for our R&D team in Galway or Dublin. You will bridge mechanical design with electronics and software to bring products to manufacturing reality, working across cross-functional teams.

You’ll own complex problems from root cause investigations to scale-up while driving compliant, high-quality outcomes in a regulated environment, reporting to the CTO. Join a growing team transforming BPH treatment.

Qualifications

• Engineering or related technical field required.
• Minimum 3 years’ hand-on experience in the medical device industry.
• Background in electronics and software is a strong advantage (electromechanical devices).
• Experience in product/process validation and design verification/validation.
• Knowledge of ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR 820 quality/regulatory requirements.
• Good mechanical design aptitude with working knowledge of SolidWorks or equivalent CAD.
• Strong written communication skills and ability to document protocols, test reports, and QMS procedures.
• Hands-on, proactive attitude and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-moving team.

Responsibilities

• Support Operations in sustaining the manufacturing line and lead CAPA, NCR, and SCAR investigations to root cause closure.
• Design, develop and implement process improvements and fixturing; optimise manufacturing processes with Operations and Quality.
• Support testing and evaluation of new and iterative designs; assist with packaging and scale-up plans (COGs reduction).
• Provide technical support to suppliers to ensure quality and reliability across the supply chain.
• Maintain DHF, QMS procedures, validation protocols and reports; ensure compliance with ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR 820.

You’ll likely have:

• An Engineering or a related technical field
• At least 3 years’ hand on experience in the medical device industry
• Background in electronics and software is a strong advantage, ideally with exposure to electromechanical medical devices containing software
• Experience in product/process validation and design verification/validation
• Knowledge of ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR 820 quality and regulatory requirements
• Good mechanical design aptitude with working knowledge of SolidWorks or equivalent CAD package
• Strong written communication skills; confident writing protocols, test reports, and QMS procedures
• A hands-on, proactive attitude with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, fast-moving team

In this role you will:

• Support Operations in sustaining the manufacturing line, real-time troubleshooting during builds and leading CAPA, NCR, and SCAR investigations through to root cause and verified closure
• Design, develop and implement process improvements and fixturing; optimise manufacturing processes and production flow in partnership with Operations and Quality
• Support test and evaluation of new and iterative designs; assist with development of product packaging and scale-up plans including staged COGs reduction
• Provide technical support to component and sub-assembly suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, and manufacturing process performance throughout the supply chain
• Maintain DHF, QMS procedures, validation protocols, and reports; ensuring all products, processes, and changes comply with ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR 820, and applicable regulatory requirements (PMA/510k)
