As Re-Gen Waste continues to expand its operations across Northern Ireland, including the development of our Derryboy site, we are seeking a reliable and hands-on Operations & Procurement Assistant to support both our day-to-day logistics and administrative functions.

This is a dynamic role ideal for someone who enjoys variety in their work. The successful candidate will be responsible for physically supporting operations on the ground (e.g. unloading lorries, goods inwards, site runs), while also assisting with procurement administration, stock control, Microsoft reporting, and cross-site coordination between our Newry HQ and Derryboy site.

You’ll be a vital link between teams, helping ensure materials, data, and communication flow smoothly.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Support loading and unloading of lorries, vans, and delivery vehicles.
  • Act as a link between Newry HQ and the Derryboy site, transporting stock, materials, and paperwork.
  • Assist with goods-inward tasks, including checking deliveries, logging stock, and reporting discrepancies.
  • Carry out general site duties such as stock checks, material movements, and assisting site supervisors.
  • Keep vehicles and equipment clean, safe, and roadworthy.
  • Assist the procurement team with raising purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and updating supplier records.
  • Maintain and update stock levels and supplier details in internal systems.
  • Liaise with suppliers and internal departments to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Support with invoice checks, delivery note reconciliation and maintaining organised records.
  • Use Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook to manage logs, reports, and communications.
  • Handle general admin tasks including printing, scanning, and filing.
  • Carry out collections and deliveries as required.
  • Support with ad-hoc tasks and urgent material pickups as needed.

Essential Criteria:

  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook/Teams
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities
  • Flexible and willing to support across departments
  • Previous experience in operations, logistics, or admin
  • Awareness of site health & safety procedures

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience using procurement or stock control systems
  • Forklift licence or manual handling training
  • Familiarity with supplier liaison or courier coordination
  • Basic health & safety training (e.g. COSHH, manual handling)
  • Experience working across multiple sites or locations

Duration: Full time

Location: Newry

Remuneration: Attractive
