Job summary

Eurofins PSS Insourcing Solutions is seeking a Process Science Shift Team Lead to direct a Laboratory Technicians team at a client site in Ireland. The role focuses on achieving high quality, productivity, and GMP compliance while meeting client requirements.

You will lead, train, and evaluate staff, manage documentation, risk assessments, and investigations, and ensure safe, efficient operations across all activities with biweekly rotating shifts.

• Hold a degree in a suitable scientific or technical discipline.
• Experience building internal relationships and cross‑team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and lead the PSS team with the Group Lead to ensure productivity, quality, documentation and safety.
• Maintain GMP compliance and uphold high ethical and quality standards in all lab work.
• Coach and motivate team members, driving performance management and engagement.
• Review and approve technical documentation, perform quality‑risk assessments, and investigate non‑conformances.
• Oversee training, performance reviews and competency development, ensuring readiness and cross‑training.
• Ensure smooth lab operations, maintenance of equipment, supplies, audits, and safety compliance.

Job Description

This is a full time, permanent position. Shift work is required for this role, Working a biweekly rotating shift pattern, which is: All shifts 14:00 – 02:00 Week 1: either Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Week 2: Wednesday & Thursday. OR Week 1: 02:00 – 14:00 Monday & Tuesday then 08:00 – 20:00 Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Week 2: 14:00 – 02:00 Wednesday & Thursday.

As a Process Science Shift Team Lead you will lead a Professional Scientific Services (PSS) team of Process Science laboratory Technicians staff to ensure that team is operating at the highest quality and productivity standards, has high morale and retention, and the agreed client requirements are entirely satisfied and that client expectations are met or exceeded through effective leadership and quality operational management.

Job Responsibilities that you be covering:

• Coordinate and lead the PSS team in partnership with the PSS Group Lead, ensuring productivity, quality, documentation, work scheduling, safety and housekeeping are delivered at maximum efficiency across all activities.
• You will ensure the client receives exceptional service by continually reviewing best practice, maintaining full GMP compliance, and upholding the highest ethical and quality standards throughout all laboratory and operational work.
• Support the development, coaching and motivation of team members by driving effective communication, structured performance management, and recognition of achievements to promote strong engagement and team success.
• Take responsibility for reviewing and approving technical documentation, completing quality‑risk assessments, initiating and investigating non‑compliances, and ensuring all records and actions are accurate, timely and fully traceable.
• Oversee training, performance reviews and competency development for analysts, ensuring cross‑training, resource planning, and operational readiness are maintained in line with client expectations and service‑level requirements.
• Ensure laboratory operations run smoothly by maintaining equipment, managing supplies, supporting audits, resolving customer queries, improving work practices, and upholding a safe, clean and compliant working environment.

Qualifications

What skills, qualifications and experiences you will hold as an Process Science Shift Team Lead

• Hold a relevant qualification, with at least a degree in a suitable scientific or technical discipline, providing the foundational knowledge required to operate effectively within a regulated laboratory or operational environment.
• You will have experience creating strong working relationships to enhance internal support networks, sharing information effectively, and contributing to the exchange of ideas, plans, and strategies across teams and stakeholders.
