Job summary

Amazon DynamoDB is seeking a Principal Engineer to own the architecture of the DynamoDB control plane, metadata, and data protection capabilities, spanning globally distributed systems.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with AWS leadership and product teams, and translate customer needs into scalable, high-availability designs that power mission-critical workloads. This role is based in Dublin, Ireland.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• Experience creating architectural vision.
• Experience designing and building large-scale distributed systems (SOA).
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture for DynamoDB's control plane, metadata and continuous data protection capabilities.
• Mentor engineers and establish best practices across the team.
• Coordinate with AWS leadership and stakeholder teams to maintain industry leadership.
• Lead by example in delivering high-quality, scalable solutions that meet customer needs.
