Elastic, the Search AI Company, is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead Platform Infrastructure - Application Networking for Elastic Cloud. You will set technical direction for Ingress, private connectivity, DNS, and security controls at scale.

You will mentor engineers, drive cross-org initiatives, and partner with product management to make architecture decisions. This is a high-visibility role focused on reliability, security, and cost efficiency across the Elastic Cloud platform.

Qualifications

• Experience designing distributed systems at scale and owning technical direction.
• Expertise in application networking, private connectivity, DNS, and security controls.

Responsibilities

• Set the technical direction for major application networking initiatives, owning designs from proposal through general availability.
• Lead development of Ingress, private connectivity, DNS, and security controls at scale for Elastic Cloud; address performance and operability.
• Lead multi-quarter, cross-organizational projects and guide them to delivery.
• Raise the operational quality of services; lead incident investigations and on-call rotations.
• Mentor engineers, act as SME, and set standards for software development across the org.
• Partner with product management and senior stakeholders on technical trade-offs and roadmap direction.
• Identify improvements to security, stability, and cost efficiency and simplify platform architecture.
