Job summary

HubSpot's Adaptive Monetization group is modernizing how customers contract, price, and pay for HubSpot at scale. This role focuses on a flexible, usage-based, enterprise-grade contract layer that is live and load-bearing daily.

The Principal Software Engineer will architect, write production code, review architectures, and guide multi-team efforts across the fintech engineering organization, shaping strategy and reliability.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing and evolving distributed systems with financial correctness requirements.
• Background at a publicly traded company with audit rigor and real-money impact.
• Ability to navigate complex legacy systems and drive incremental progress.

Responsibilities

• Architect the contract and monetization layer and define core architecture for contract lifecycle management, usage metering, and pricing extensibility.
• Write production code regularly, lead design reviews, and own large initiatives end-to-end.
• Mentor senior engineers and influence multi-team efforts across the fintech organization.
