Job summary

You will mentor engineers, apply human factors, and drive prototyping and testing using advanced manufacturing methods, ensuring robust design controls and risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or design field.
• 6+ years of experience in medical device development.
• Proven track record from concept through commercialization.
• Experience in regulated product development environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical and industrial design of novel medical devices from concept through commercialization.
• Drive innovation with user-centered solutions meeting clinical and customer needs.
• Apply human factors, ergonomics, and usability throughout development.
• Provide technical leadership across multiple R&D projects.
• Develop concepts and detailed designs using SolidWorks.
• Lead prototyping using injection moulding, extrusion, additive manufacturing, and metal 3D printing.
• Drive material selection and sourcing activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful outcomes.
• Identify technical risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Mentor engineers and designers; act as a technical representative with physicians and leaders.
• Support verification and validation activities.
