BB7 in Ireland is seeking a Principal Fire Engineer to lead high-profile fire safety projects across the UK and ROI, mentoring engineers and guiding projects from concept to delivery. This role emphasizes Chartered status and collaboration with our ARMs and Fire Engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Act as Project Manager and day-to-day lead on large and/or complex projects at all stages of the project cycle.
  • Manage large/complex projects from start to finish within time, budget, and quality targets.
  • Lead small projects as Project Manager, delivering on time, within budget and to high quality standards.
  • Secure new projects and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and team members.
  • Engage in business development activities to win new work.

Overview

A Principal Fire Engineer is an experienced team member whoprovidesexpert advice on various projects within the built environment throughoutdifferent stagesof the project life cycle. In addition to their technicalexpertise, they assume responsibility for managing project tasks and ensuring successful project delivery on large-scale and/or technically challenging projects.

At BB7, a Principal Fire Engineer is a crucial project team member. They oversee and fully manage large-scale and/or technical projects and lead a team of Engineers. They play a significant role in mentoring and developing their team members' careers. A Principal Fire Engineer is instrumental in securing new business through repeat work and engaging in business development activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • A Principal Fire Engineer would be the Project Manager and day-to-day lead on large and/or complex projects at all stages of the project cycle, including the construction phase. Your willlead the Project Engineer on projects and report directly to the Project Director asrequired.
  • Managelarge/complex projects from start to finish to ensure BB7’s projects are delivered to high quality, on time, within budget and achieving the client’s KPIs.
  • Successfully lead small projects as the Project Manager, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Secure new projects andmaintainstrong, effective working relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members
  • Actively engagein business development activities is seen as beneficial for securing new projects.
  • Takea mentoring roletofostera supportive and productive work environment, includingmentoring and developing team members to enhance their skills and advance their careers.
  • Manage workload distributionfor projectswithin the team, as well as the financialanalysisof the team and pipeline management.
  • Be a role model by stayingwell-informed of the latest industry advancements, codes, and standards, and communicating changes company-wide.
  • Project Management includingcommercialmanagement, risk management, performance monitoring, raising invoicing and project manage budgetsand resource allocation plans.
  • Contribute to business development efforts byidentifyingand securing new clients to support business growth.
  • Provide consultancy services that focus on successful outcomes for our clients in an ethical manner
Requirements
  • An Engineering Council accredited BEng Hons, MEng, MSc, or equivalent discussed.
  • Associate Memberof IFE/CABE/Engineers Ireland or a relevant professional body is expected
  • Working on a plan to becomeChartered with a bodyand obtaining Interim CEng.
