Job summary

Midland Steel in Mountmellick is seeking a capable Cut and Bent Rebar Machine Operator to produce customised reinforcement bars for construction projects. You will operate automated cutting and bending equipment, set up machines, and verify dimensions with gauges to ensure quality.

Responsibilities include preparing rebar per work orders, maintaining machines, and safely transporting materials around the factory.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in an industrial manufacturing facility.
• Experience with listed equipment including shear line, double bender, threading and coupling, pile cage, roll mat, teleporter and gantry crane.

Responsibilities

• Operate automated rebar cutting and bending machines to produce customised reinforcement bars.
• Setup, calibrate and follow safety guidelines for machine operation.
• Read work orders and prepare rebar by measuring, marking and adjusting patterns.
• Set up bending machine to create various shapes and angles as required by projects.
• Inspect cut and bent rebar to ensure dimensions and quality, using gauges for verification.
• Transport rebar within the facility and assist with moving to/from machines with appropriate equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance on machinery and report major faults to maintenance staff.
