We’re recruiting a Power Systems Engineer for our client, a leading project management and consultancy firm that operate in multiple sectors including pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, chemical, medical devices, waste treatment and food and beverage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Proficient in HV topology design (sub-station design, air insulated switchgear, gas insulated switchgear, earthing requirements, lightning protection, O/H busbar sizing, breaker sizing, HV cable sizing, etc.).
• Ability to discuss the pros and cons of typical designs such as fixed/withdraw switchgear (MV), use of RMUs, primary/secondary switchgear, etc.
• Proficient in interactions with the utility.
• Design and create underground MV/HV routes.
• Design underground draw pits including cable containment for MV sides of transformers.
• Design transformer compounds, including secondary side design and BOQ creation.
• Design client control rooms, protection panels, UPS, remote control systems, LV feed panels to transformers, etc.
• Understand typical data centre power requirements.
• Size gas plants and gas generators.
• Liaise with project managers for updates on new projects and scopes.
• Create basis of designs and estimates for new projects (HV/MV).
• Perform electrical design work as required, including MV & HV topology.
• Handle on-site faults on transformers, switchgear, etc.
• Deliver projects within budgets and schedules.

Key Requirements:

• Over 5 years of experience as a power system engineer, covering the duties listed above.
• Full Irish driving license.
• Proficient in Dialux, Amtech (Trimble), Etap, Eracs Cdegs, etc., with ability to train others.
• Fluent in English and eligible to work in Ireland.
