Turmec is seeking a Shot Blasting & Painting Operative to join our production team. You will prepare and finish fabricated steel components through shot blasting and painting to support manufacturing standards.

Work closely with fabrication and assembly teams to ensure smooth workflow and timely project delivery. The role offers full-time, permanent employment with 21 days annual leave, a company pension, health insurance, on-site parking, and full PPE.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in shot blasting or industrial coating is an advantage but not essential.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Health & safety practices awareness.

Responsabilités

• Prepare steel components using shot blasting equipment.
• Remove scale and contaminants prior to painting.
• Inspect blasted surfaces to ensure correct profile and cleanliness.
• Apply powder coating to blasted components.
• Operate curing oven safely and effectively.
• Ensure correct film thickness and uniform finish.
• Check all components against required paint and surface-finish standards.
• Record quality checks and report any deviations.
• Maintain a clean, controlled working environment.
• Follow all safety procedures relating to blasting and coating.
• Carry out routine equipment checks.
• Assist with housekeeping and general workshop duties.

We currently have an opening for a 'Shot Blasting & Painting Operative' to join our growing production team.In this role, you will be part of the paint team, responsible for preparing and finishing fabricated steelcomponents through shot blasting and painting, ensuring a high-quality finish that supports Turmec'smanufacturing standards. You will work closely with our fabrication and assembly teams, contributing to asmooth workflow and timely delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare steel components using shot blasting equipment.
• Remove scale and contaminants prior to painting.
• Inspect blasted surfaces to ensure correct profile and cleanliness.
• Apply powder coating to blasted components.
• Operate curing oven safely and effectively.
• Ensure correct film thickness and uniform finish.

Previous experience in shot blasting or industrial coating is an advantage but not essential as full training will be provided.

• Previous experience in relevant industry desirable
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
• Positive, team-focused attitude with good communication skills
• Awareness and understanding of Health & Safety practices
• Experience of gantry and forklift driving
• Strong attention to detail and ability to problem solve effectively and efficiently
