Centre for Synthesis & Chemical Biology, University College Dublin invites applications for a PhD graduate to work on ‘green’ methods of polymer synthesis for energy applications. Salary range: €47,273 − €53,925 per annum with initial one-year appointment and potential extension.

The role focuses on polymer synthesis/chemistry and requires expertise in ATRP, emulsion polymerization or additive manufacturing, with a research training environment under a Principal Investigator.

Formación

• PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering.
• Extensive experience in polymer synthesis (ATRP, emulsion polymerization, and/or additive manufacturing).
• Evidence of extensive experience in synthesis and advanced structural/spectroscopic characterization of polymeric materials (NMR, GPC).
• Commitment to research and high-impact publications.

Responsabilidades

• Design and conduct a defined programme of research under the supervision of the Principal Investigator.
• Engage in dissemination of results through publications and conferences.
• Mentor graduate students and contribute to research group activities.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure FAIR data management.
• Prepare progress reports and proposals for continuation of the project.
