Job Description

Overview: Gorilla Post Production is seeking an experienced Post-Production Editor to work across the ingest, editing, conforming, and finishing stages of film and television projects. The selected candidate will assemble, edit and prepare video content from initial footage ingest through to final delivery. Working closely with directors, colourists and sound designers, they will develop and deliver edits and final masters in line with the creative and technical responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

• Review, select and edit footage, assembling material into sequences and developing edits in line with the creative direction and requirements of each project.
• Work with directors and other members of the creative team to develop edits, respond to feedback and refine cuts throughout the post-production process.
• Ingest and prepare media for editing, including transcoding, media organisation and multi-camera synchronisation where required.
• Carry out conforming and prepare projects for finishing, including media relinking, VFX pulls and preparation for colour grading and final delivery.
• Organise, manage and maintain project media and data throughout the post-production process, including project files, timelines, media, metadata and supporting assets across shared storage systems.
• Prepare and deliver final masters for broadcast, streaming and other digital platforms.
• Carry out quality control on final deliverables, ensuring files meet the technical specifications and delivery requirements of each project, broadcaster or platform.
• Manage the backup and archiving of project media, including LTO tape and cloud-based storage, and assist with restoring archived material when required.
• Troubleshoot post-production issues and work with the relevant teams to resolve problems affecting media, projects or final deliverables.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Relevant professional experience in film or television post-production.
• Strong proficiency in Avid Media Composer and DaVinci Resolve Studio.
• Attention to detail, with a good understanding of editing, pacing and continuity, and an ability to work creatively within the requirements of each production.
• Good understanding of post-production workflows, including media ingest, editing, conforming and finishing.
• Experience using encoding and transcoding tools such as Adobe Media Encoder.
• Familiarity with video codecs, formats and various delivery platforms.
• Familiarity with shared post-production storage systems such as Avid NEXIS.
• Familiarity with LTO tape archiving and cloud asset management systems.
• Experience preparing final masters and delivering content to required technical specifications.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to understand creative direction, respond to feedback and work effectively with colleagues across post-production.
• Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work efficiently under tight deadlines.
