The Irish Blood Transfusion Service (IBTS) is currently recruiting a full time, permanent Management Accountant based in the Finance Department, National Blood Centre, Dublin. The IBTS is a non-commercial state agency with responsibility for collecting, testing, processing and distributing blood and blood products within the Republic of Ireland. We are also responsible for the Irish Unrelated Bone Marrow Registry and the Tissue Bank. We rely completely on our community of voluntary non-remunerated donors to provide sufficient donations to ensure a consistent supply of blood and blood products to enable life-saving patient care. Our products and services are essential to healthcare and impact patient care across a broad range of medical and surgical specialties.

Key Responsibilities

The Management Accountant has a key role with in the Finance Department working with all user departments and stakeholders in various aspects of Finance such as accounts preparation, budgeting, costing and supporting various organisational projects. The role has people management responsibilities for a number of Finance functions to ensure the smooth operation of the department. The Management Accountant also has a key role in the implementation of the organisations various operational and strategic goals.

Essential Criteria
  • Professional accountancy qualification with a minimum of five years post qualification experience.
  • At least five years experience operating in a senior managerial role.
  • Must demonstrate excellent analytical skills and a high degree of computer literacy.
  • Commercially astute, a problem solver and results driven Excellent interpersonal skills including proficient communication
  • Possess the in-depth skills and expertise to manage the day to day operations

Salary

Salary: The salary scale attached to the post is the Department of Health Grade VIII scale - €83,912.00 to €101,207.00 (incl. LSI) pro rata per annum. Entry point onto the salary scale is dependent upon relevant experience.

Eligible candidates must be:

  • a) A citizen of the European Economic Area (EEA) - EU, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway

  • c) A citizen of Switzerland in regards to the agreement between the EU and Switzerland on the movement of people
  • d) A non-EEA citizen who has a stamp 4 visa
  • e) A person awarded international protection under the International Protection Act 2015, or any family member entitled to remain in the State as a result of family reunification and has a stamp 4 visa , or
  • f) A non-EEA citizen who is a parent of a dependant child who is a citizen of and resident in an EEA member state if the UK or Switzerland and has a stamp 4 visa.
  • To qualify candidates must meet one of the citizenship criteria above and produce formal supporting evidence of same, by the date of any job offer.
