Job summary

Google Ireland is seeking a risk and compliance subject matter expert within the extended workforce risk and compliance team. You will own policies for the extended workforce, manage policy inventory, and advise product areas on compliance requirements.

The role emphasizes aligning policies with central policy teams, designing training, and supporting acquisitions or mergers while protecting Google's brand. This position offers equity and a 15% bonus target as part of the compensation package.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in compliance, trust and safety, risk management, investigation, auditing, legal, or consulting.
  • Experience leading risk and compliance projects globally.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a compliance subject matter expert who owns policies for extended workforce at Google. Manage inventory of policies, guidelines, training content for extended workforce risk and compliance subjects.
  • Consult and advise Google product areas and cross-functional areas on xWS Compliance policies, including approval of exceptions or addenda to the current policy library. Draft new policies as needed and work with appropriate business and cross-functional areas to implement.
  • Interpret policies and guidelines to enable business acquisitions and mergers.
  • Respond to inquiries on xWS Compliance policies and trend inquiries to understand what changes to policies may be required.
  • Design compliance training content and liaise with the central Policy team to ensure the xWS policy framework is aligned with central policy teams.

About the job

The Risk and Compliance team within extended (xWS) workforce is responsible for ensuring that Google complies with all laws and regulations applicable to its contingent workforce globally. The team does this by identifying and assessing risks, setting requirements, designing and assessing controls, ensuring governance, and conducting testing and auditing.

Risk and compliance equips, enables, and empowers Googlers to achieve success while protecting Google's brand and reputation. The team is a second line of defense at Google, working with other teams to ensure that Google is compliant with all applicable laws and regulations.

You will be a subject matter expert in the policy and advisory team within extended workforce risk and compliance. A significant menu of services is to enable Alphabet businesses through consultation using deep subject matter expertise in order to reach business solutions that meet appropriate risk and compliance expectations. Individual pay is determined by factors including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Ireland: €112000 - €114000 (EUR) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

  • Consult and advise Alphabet product areas and cross-functional areas on xWS Compliance policies, including approval of exceptions or addenda to the current policy library. Draft new policies as needed and work with appropriate business and cross-functional areas to implement.
  • Interpret policies and guidelines to enable business acquisitions and mergers.
  • Respond to inquiries on xWS Compliance policies and trend inquiries to understand what changes to policies may be required.
  • Design compliance training content and provide ad hoc training to stakeholders as necessary. Liaise with the central Policy team (Risk, Compliance and Integrity or "RCI") to ensure the xWS policy framework is aligned with central policy teams.
