Job summary

HireHive is seeking an experienced PLC Programmer to deliver sophisticated automation and electro-mechanical control systems for clients in Ireland and internationally. The role covers the full automation lifecycle, from specification to on-site commissioning.

You will work across diverse projects, travel within Ireland and abroad, and contribute to system architecture, programming, testing and validation. The ideal candidate has a bachelor's in Electrical/Mechatronics/Automation and 3+ years

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechatronics/Automation engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3+ years PLC/HMI development experience in electrical automation.
• Proficient with Siemens, TIA Portal, and Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Studio.
• Knowledge of Irish/international safety standards and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop PLC and HMI programs across the full automation lifecycle.
• Lead and support project teams to meet performance standards.
• Commission systems on-site, integrate, simulate and test.
• Ensure safety compliance and maintain thorough documentation.

Scope of role

We are looking for an experienced PLC Programmer to join our growing team and play a key role in delivering sophisticated industrial automation and electro-mechanical control systems for clients in Ireland and Internationally. This is an an opportunity to work across the full automation lifecycle - from functional specification, control system architecture and PLC programming through to integration, simulation, testing and on-site commissioning.

What we're looking for in you

• Qualification - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering or equivalent technical experience/certifications
• Experience - 3+ years hands-on PLC /HMI development experience in electrical automation.
• Advanced proficiency in PLCs/HMIs such as Siemens, TIA Portal, Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Studio
• In-depth understanding of mainstream platforms (e.g. Rockwell Factory Talk, Control Logix and motion control systems)
• Comprehensive understanding of Irish/International safety standards.
• Strong diagnostic skills, ability to troubleshoot complex issues, devise problems, be adaptive, innovative and flexible in meeting challenges/changes that arise.
• Be methodical, structured and accurate in your approach to coding, systems and documentation development.
• Ability to lead and support a team enabling performance standards, growth and progression.
