Job summary

Stelfox Tech Recruitment is seeking Platform / ML Software Engineers in Dublin to join a new engineering team focused on cancer drug discovery. Candidates will design scalable backend systems, work with cutting-edge AI technologies, and empower scientists to unlock insights from complex datasets.

The ideal applicant should have 6-10 years of software engineering experience and a relevant degree. Visa sponsorship is not provided for this role, and candidates are expected to work on high-impact problems in a fast-scaling, AI-driven biotech environment.

Qualifications

• Experience across Python, FastAPI, and modern tooling.
• Familiarity with APIs and Cloud services like AWS.
• Understanding of infrastructure as code with Terraform.

Responsibilities

• Design and scale backend systems that support ML workflows.
• Help data scientists and ML engineers train and deploy models.
• Build high-performance applications for researchers.

Skills

Python (FastAPI, modern tooling like UV / Pixi)

APIs: REST / GraphQL

Frontend: HTML / HTMX

Cloud: AWS (S3, ECS)

Infrastructure: Terraform

Workflow orchestration (e.g. Prefect)

Exposure to AI tools (e.g. Claude Code)

6–10 years’ software engineering experience

Degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology/Chemistry, Physics, or similar

Education
